Repentance Tabernacle Church
We believe that Jesus Christ died for all and in doing so left behind a plan of salvation that will ensure mankind’s entrance into eternal life. The plan is open and readily available to anyone who chooses to accept him as their personal LORD and SAVIOR.
We also believe when you hear the word you will ask "what shall we do?" "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" [Acts. 2:38].
Repent – (repentance) is a change of mind and a conversion from sin to God. All must repent of their sins and recognize that Jesus Christ is Lord. In doings so, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise" [Ps. 51:17]. John the Baptist said: "Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" [Matt. 3:2]. [ref: Mark 1:4; Luke 5:32; 2 Pet. 3:9]
Baptism – is to be administered only by immersion and in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins [Acts 2:38]. 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life [Rom. 6:3-4]. [ref: Matt. 3:16; John 3:5; Acts 8:12, 16, 38; Acts 19:5; Gal. 3:27].
Holy Ghost – the Spirit of Jesus Christ dwelling within you and the evidence is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit give utterance. [ref: Acts 2:1-4]. We therefore, believe that a Holy Ghost experience is mandatory for all mankind today. The Holy Ghost is a gift bestowed upon the believer for the purpose of equipping and empowering the believer, making him a more effective witness for service in the world [Acts 1:8]. He teaches and guides one into all truth [John 16:13].
